Beginner to Intermediate
Vibrato is that magical sauce that will make everything you play sound better!
Do you want to learn vibrato on the violin?
Learning vibrato takes patience and dedication, but everyone can learn it! I’ve taken everything I’ve learned from playing the violin over 15 years, taking years of violin lessons & teaching hundreds of students around the world, and created a simple, step-by-step program to learn vibrato on the violin.
Unlock Your Vibrato is the roadmap you need to learn the vibrato technique and apply it to pieces.
Are you ready to learn the only violin technique that makes every note on your violin sound more beautiful, and have fun along the way?
Here is How Unlock Your Vibrato will Help You
Unlock Your Vibrato is a step-by-step course tailored to violin adult beginners. After completing this course, you will feel impressed with your newborn vibrato tone!
You’ll start from the beginning
We start from the beginning to set you up for a beautiful vibrato tone. Even if you have done vibrato exercises before, most people overlook some key exercises that affect your final vibrato sound.
A simple, step-by-step plan
I walk you through the entire process with step-by-step videos, so that even if you can’t seem to move your fingers, you’ll be able to make progress.
You don’t have to have flexible fingers
If you’re not as young and flexible as you once were, I’ve got you. I’ve included exercises to relax “stiff fingers” so you can slowly learn the vibrato motion. Just use my daily flexibility exercises and enjoy the loosened-up feeling in your hand!
You don’t have to go it alone
Along with instant access to all your weekly course materials, you also get access to a community of other students, as well as access to me & a professional violin teacher to ask all your questions during office hours, all for no additional payment.
Invest time in your vibrato practice
Learning vibrato takes a lot of time. I will help you with weekly motivation to keep practicing with simple videos. Learning vibrato isn’t easy, but joining this program will simplify the process and hold you accountable, so that you can finally take your vibrato practice seriously and add vibrato to your pieces for years to come!
Have fun in the process
This vibrato course is NOT an endless “ambulance” and “wrist” exercise with a metronome (like most vibrato courses). You’ll get access to weekly fun vibrato song challenges that are composed specially for this course. Every week, you will get a fun and slightly more difficult challenge than the week before. I will make sure you actually WANT to practice vibrato!

“I enjoyed Unlock Your Vibrato from beginning till the end”
What a great course, I really enjoyed it from beginning to end.
I had already been practicing vibrato for a few months before I joined Unlock Your Vibrato. What this course brought me was a more structured base and helped me to focus, but with a real sense of fun and lots of encouragement along the way. Also, I felt a sense of togetherness with others learning in the course.
I learned the correct hold on violin, great new finger exercises, also how to reduce tension, and so much more everything you need for learning vibrato with tips and a real personal touch from Julia. Great course, hard work but fun. I feel like I’m making progress and it certainly gives you the tools for achievement.
Many thanks to you Julia. 🙂
What my students are saying
Simply the best I joined Julia's Violin Academy around 4 - 5 weeks ago, and have not regretted that choice for a moment. I should explain that I first bought a violin in 2019, took a few free online lessons, and managed to hack out a few tunes. I'm an adult learner on the wrong side of 50, wanting to fulfill one of those "wish I had done it" things that we all have.I was aware of Julia's Academy, but I'm also one of those people who reluctant to commit to purchases online. Then health issues and life got in the way.5 weeks ago, I picked up my violin again, and then took the plunge into JVA.From the first, I knew it was the right choice. The lessons are structured from basics upwards, in bite sizes with just the right amount of technical difficulty and challenge to keep you motivated... read morePiper McDermott 1 year ago
What violin taught me and how JVA helped To Julia, Victoria, Team JVA and everyone here: I simply wanted to say how grateful I am to have you with me in my Violin journey.
JVA and the students here have added much beyond violin skills alone in my life and enriched it beyond imagination. I have made friendships here that I cherish with all my heart. In Jan this year I had written something about violinists and this group. I am taking the liberty of sharing it here and to say kudos to all who have bravely taken up this instrument!
‘As I started to play the violin, I came across quite a few violinists, many of whom had started to learn the violin well into adulthood.
Adult violin begginers need special mention. They are a select breed.
To validate my point, among those I interacted with, initially I knew them just as fellow like minded folk and discussed... read more
I am so excited to be a new member of Julia's Violin Academy! I have always loved violin and wanted to play ever since I was in high school and played trumpet in our band and orchestra. I was always jealous of the string players in my full orchestra and wished I played violin instead! Long story short, I have not played any instrument in 25 years, so I have been out of the music loop for a while. My 13 year old daughter received a violin for Easter, and I told her I was going to learn along with her and we would learn together. We've been playing around on the violin since Easter using some books and YouTube videos. That is where I first saw some of Julia's videos, and I really liked her style and found her so helpful. I was planning to take private lessons, but... read moreTracy Senecal Maness 2 years ago
I have wanted to play the violin for years. THIS program is actually helping me to do it. I have wanted to play the violin for years. I searched many sites, and finally settled on Julia’s Violin Academy. She provides not just music or tabs and a video on how to play the song, there is SO MUCH MORE. My favorite part is that you will be part of a community of students of varying levels who can, and often do, communicate with you and know what you are going through. This is a relatively hard instrument to play, at least for me, but to have people who know what you are going through when you practice a song early in your studies and feel like you will never get it, is absolutely invaluable. As a student, I can consult with an instructor, and they will give me tips about what I am doing both right and wrong when I submit a video of... read moreW. Kendall Johnson 1 year ago
